Simmering refers to the cooking process in water, which is heated to just below 100 ° C, i.e. the boiling point. This method is used to gently heat heat-sensitive foods such as dairy foods, sauces, egg sticks or chocolate coating in a water bath. In the Simmer pot, a special double-walled saucepan, the space between the outer and inner wall is filled with water to about a third of the height. Since the inner wall has no direct contact with the heat source, the temperature cannot exceed 100 ° C, making it impossible to burn or boil over.
